SHEPHALBURY PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS POLICY TO NURSERY 2026
Eligibility A child will be eligible for admission to the nursery class from the start of the autumn term after they turn three years old. Admission is subject to an application being made and places being available. A child will be eligible for 30 hours if they meet the criteria as set down by the department for education. Parents and carers will be expected to demonstrate their eligibility termly, using the official website. A code will be issued and this will need to be given to the school so that they can claim the entitlement, if this is not submitted on time you will be responsible for the charge incurred.
Capacity
The Nursery has capacity to accommodate 30 children:
15 hours of free education over 5 mornings - 8:35am - 11:45pm
or
30 hours free education 8:35am - 15:00pm
Paid afternoon sessions - £5 per afternoon
Application process
From October 2018 Stevenage schools will be allocating on a first come first serve basis for entry into the Nursery class.
Applications open on Wednesday 1st October 2025 at 08:30am
An application form will need to be emailed to admin@shephalburypark.herts.sch.uk
The form can be found at the top of this page. Once this has been received you will get receive an email from the school confirming that you have a place at the Nursery or if you are on the waiting list.
If you have been allocated a space but no longer require it, please inform the school as soon aspossible, so that this is available for others.

Primary School Appeals - September 2026 Start
After allocation day (16 April 2026), you will be able to appeal for any schools you have applied to but have been refused a place at. To do this, go to:

The deadline to submit your primary school appeal is 15 May 2026 (4pm).
